One holding, several purchases
You can add several purchases to the same holding. The app uses their quantities and prices to work out how much you own and your average purchase cost. There is no need to overwrite the first purchase when you buy more.
A sale reduces your quantity. The remaining holding uses a weighted average purchase cost. The app does not produce a separate tax report for profits made on sales.
Add or correct a transaction
- Tap the gear icon beside the asset on Home.
- Choose a purchase or sale and enter the quantity, price and date.
- If you use groups, assign the purchase to the one you want.
- Save, then check the quantity and transaction history. To fix a mistake, edit that transaction.
Cash, property and crypto wallets
For cash, you record deposits and withdrawals. For property, you update your valuation. Synchronized crypto holdings get their quantities from the wallet balance.
After selling a security, record the proceeds in your cash balance too if you track that money in the app. Portfoliom does not read cash movements from your brokerage account.
What does the X button delete?
After confirmation, the X beside an asset deletes the whole holding and all its transactions. This also applies in group view, not just to the portion in that group. To change a single purchase, find it in Manage position.
