Record a cash balance

  1. Select cash on Add.
  2. Enter a recognizable name, currency and opening amount, such as EUR reserve.
  3. To model interest, enter an annual growth assumption and the requested starting date.
  4. Save and check the balance in its original and reporting currencies.

Deposits and withdrawals

When you add or take out money, record the amount and date in Manage position. For interest-bearing balances, the date matters because it determines how long the money earns interest.

This entry is not connected to your bank account. You need to record transfers and money received from selling investments yourself.

How estimated interest works

Enter an annual rate to estimate how the balance grows with compound interest over time. Your bank's actual balance may differ because of fees, taxes, changing rates or when interest is paid.

For a balance without interest, leave the rate blank or enter zero. Its HUF value can still move with exchange rates if the money is held in EUR or USD.

Groups and savings plans

If you use groups, you can assign cash movements to different goals. Cash contributes to total net worth and the savings calculator's starting amount. Take care not to add the same balance twice.
